The F\u00f6rch Racing by Atlas Ward team kicked off the 2024 Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland season at the Hockenheim circuit. Our crew returned from the inaugural round with trophies for successes in both sprint and endurance races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like in many years of the famous DTM series, Hockenheim serves as both the first and last round of the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland, where F\u00f6rch Racing by Atlas Ward fields Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport cars in both sprint and endurance races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first podium for the team came during the Saturday race for Caymans, part of the Porsche Sprint Challenge GT4. Jakub Litwin, substituting for Arkadiusz Grycz, secured the second place throughout the race, applying pressure on the leader and finishing just 2.3 seconds behind after 17 laps of competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second race, Jakub was on track to replicate this result but was hindered by the deployment of the safety car. After the race resumed, he lost his second position and fell off the podium in the final moments after an aggressive battle, during which he was pushed off the track. Wojciech Karwan also finished in the top ten in both GT4 races, while Marcin Karczewski placed eighth among RS generation Cayman drivers twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomasz Magdziarz narrowly missed the podium in both races of the Porsche Sprint Challenge GT3. In Saturday’s race, he fought until the end for third place among 992 generation drivers, finishing just 0.795 seconds short of success. The second race was filled with incidents, with the safety car coming out multiple times. Trouble awaited even the front runners, but Magdziarz managed to avoid it, securing a solid fourth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Micha\u0142 Perel and Mariusz G\u00f3recki also collected points for the overall standings, finishing the weekend in ninth and eleventh places, respectively. G\u00f3recki could have finished higher but unfortunately did not reach the end of Sunday\u2019s sprint. Maciej K\u0119pka and Janusz Szyma\u0144ski finished outside the points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

F\u00f6rch Racing also fielded four cars\u2014three 911s and one Cayman\u2014in the hour-long endurance race, concluding the weekend at the Porsche Endurance Challenge. In the combined class competition, Janusz Szyma\u0144ski and Daan Arrow performed excellently, taking third place just one second behind the leading driver. Only four seconds behind them, Mariusz G\u00f3recki and Tomasz Magdziarz finished in sixth place. Since the guest drivers do not earn points for the overall standings, G\u00f3recki is the leader of the table after the first round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Micha\u0142 Perel and Karol Kr\u0119t lost their chance for a good result on the penultimate lap when they failed to finish due to a punctured tire. Kamil Franczak and Wojciech Karwan also came close to the podium among the Caymans but were classified third in the RS generation class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second round of the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland featuring F\u00f6rch Racing by Atlas Ward will take place on the weekend of June 15-16 at the legendary N\u00fcrburgring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
