BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is one of the most widely recognized multi-criteria building assessment methods in the world. The certification is a guarantee of maintaining the highest standards of environmental protection, comfort of use and optimization of building operating costs.

BREEAM certification has been on the market for more than 20 years, implemented by the British Building Research Establishment (BRE), which is responsible for its global operations. The certification process for each construction site – regardless of the final designation of the facility – is coordinated by a special evaluator appointed at the design stage. Atlas Ward Polska has a licensed BREEAM expert for such newly built facilities.

During the certification process, buildings are evaluated on several levels. These include: management, energy consumption, health and well-being, environmental pollution, transport, land use, materials used and water consumption. The outcome of the certification is an evaluation, based on the points received for the implementation of specific criteria defined in the system.
