The race, which took place in June at the German Nürburgring, provided both the participants and fans of Atlas Ward Polska drivers with an emotional rollercoaster.

For Mariusz Górecki, from the very beginning, the race was a test of strength and character. A brake system failure meant that he was late for qualifying. After driving four measuring laps, Mariusz started Saturday’s race from a strong second place. Already at the first corner, there was a contact with the rival. A blow to the rear of the car pushed the driver to sixteenth place. The determination to make up for the losses allowed us to finish the race in fourth place. Mariusz’s excellent performance during the Sunday race guaranteed him the title of first in class. After great joy with the podium and congratulations, the news came about a 30-second penalty. Mariusz did not notice the yellow flag while overtaking his opponent on the bend.

Wojciech Karwan started the Saturday race from the tenth starting position. After the turmoil over the collision of his rivals, he lost several positions, fighting in the corners flooded with coolants. He was gradually making up for losses and ended the competition with a strong, eighth place. During the race, with each successive lap, he systematically built his advantage and finished the tough competition with safety car sessions in a strong, fifth position in the class.

We would like to remind you that it was the first race of the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland this year. After catching a breath, Mariusz and Wojtek will start preparations for the July round at the Austrian Red Bull Ring.
